As gastro tourism goes, St. George’s City Food & Garden Market (Sat, 09:00-15:00) is about as tasty as they come, and an absolute must on any epicurean’s shopping list.

Regarded as one of the UK’s finest food markets, St. George’s has around 250 stalls selling an eclectic range of local and organic produce from fresh fish to wild boar and smelly cheeses to Armagh apples.

A market has existed on this site since 1604, and the Victorian red brick and glass structure you see today is the culmination of a £4.3m renovation project.
